This Program is going to start from March 16, 2010
State Energy-Efficient Appliance Rebate Program (SEEARP),is focusing on to saving energy by encouraging appliance replacement with Energy Star products through the consumer rebates,Process. This Program is an initiative of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Since the funding allocation is about one dollar per Alaskan resident, hence this plan approved on December 1, 2009 by US Department of Energy focuses mainly on applying the rebates to Alaska citizens with disabilities. All funding of this program will go toward rebates.

Organizations serving disabled Alaskans were contacted to assist with program development. For rural Alaskans with disabilities this Rebate is larger because the purchasing and shipping cost for appliances to rural areas is higher as compared to urban .

Appliances



The appliances which are kept in this category are
Energy Star refrigerators, freezers, washers and dishwashers.
Maximum one of each product type is allowed per participant.
Amount that is to rebated is for every Alaskans with disabilities as per guidelines
For Energy Star refrigerators and freezers:
$500 for rural
$300 for urban
For Energy Star washers and dish washers:
$300 for rural
$150 for urban
The criteria for Rural community is defined as the one who is not served by road, or by the Alaska Marine Highway at least once per week.

Application Procedure



Applicants have to get an application form from the office from 16 th march 2010 onwards. Return the completed application, which includes proof of disability to AHFC. An appliance voucher will be mailed to the participant is valid for 120 days. Participant purchases eligible Energy Star appliances with their own funds and then mails the completed voucher with a copy of receipt(s) to AHFC. A rebate will be mailed to the participant within 90 days. This entire process sub ject to the eligibility criteria I, disability proof with their application. The proof should match with the definition of disabled as defined in section 7(6) of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, (2) who is under a disability as defined in section 1614(a)(3)(A) or 223(d) of the Social Security Act or in section 102(7) of the Developmental Disabilities Services and Facilities Construction Act, or (3) who is receiving benefits under chapter 11 or 15 of title 38, U.S.C.



AHFC is required to issue an IRS Form 1099-G to individuals who receive payments under this program. Rebates may be offered for a limited time only. program will end automatically as funds run out.
